Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank is a Government bank in Bangladesh that was incorporated by the President’s Ordinance No. 58 in 1986.
The bank is a specialized financial institution for financing the farmers of the 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur.
The bank commenced its first banking functioning on March 15, 1987. The head office of the bank is located in Rajshahi. The bank was made to help the farmers from the Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.
Since the very beginning of its banking operation, it has formed the networks of 383 branches in the northern part of the country.
The bank performs functions like financing agri-business and agro-based industries and poverty alleviation programs.
The authorized capital of the Bank is Tk. 10000 million, while the paid-up capital is TK 8250 million. Besides, its reserves stand at Tk. 208.50 million.
Consumer banking, Corporate Banking, Investment banking are the notable products and services of the bank.
The Government entrusts the management of the bank to a seven-member board of directors. The managing director is the chief executive of the bank.
