National Bank Limited is a private commercial bank in Bangladesh. National Bank Limited is the first private sector bank wholly owned by Bangladeshi nationals.
The bank was opened on March 28, 1983, but it started its first banking operation from its first Branch on March 23, 1983.
Moreover, the bank opened its second Branch on May 11, 1983, at Khatungonj, Chittagong.
To keep pace with national and international economic activities and for rendering all current services, NBL, automated all its branches with computer networks under the competitive commercial demand of time.
Since the beginning of the operation, the bank has set up 204 branches, including an Agri branch, to expand business service across the country.
In addition to that, the bank’s active and diversified approach to seize the market opportunities is going on a continuous process to accommodate new customers by developing and expanding rural, SME financing, and offshore banking facilities.
NBL was also the first among domestic banks to introduce international Master Card in Bangladesh. In the meantime, NBL has also introduced the Visa Card and Power Card.
The bank has 10 Ad branches, 10 sub-branches, 10 E-Gp branches across the country for banking services.
