Bangladesh Development Bank Limited Bangladesh Development Bank is a Government specialized commercial Bank in Bangladesh founded on November 16, 2009, as a Public Company Limited by shares under the Companies Act, 1994.
The bank was the merger of Bangladesh Shilpa Bank and Shilpa Rin Sangstha, founded in 1972.
The bank offers a vast range of services, including Commercial Banking, SME Banking, and Developmental Banking.
Bangladesh Development Bank commenced its first operation in 2010. Since then, the bank has formed a strong network of 45 branches around the country with 4 zonal offices.
Moreover, the bank has 11 divisions with 26 departments. Besides, the bank has its own training institute in BDBL Bhaban, 8, Rajuk Avenue, Dhaka-1000.
BDBL Securities Limited, BDBL Investment Services Limited, are the two subsidiary companies of the bank.
The BDBL also achieved the membership of Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange Limited (CSE).
The bank’s main vision is to emerge as the country’s prime Financial Institution for supporting private sector industrial and other projects of considerable significance to the country’s economic development.
In addition to that, the bank needs to be active participants in commercial banking by introducing new product lines and providing excellent services to the customers.
About 800 employees are working in the bank to render the services towards the people of the nation.
