Agrani Bank is a state-owned commercial bank of Bangladesh that was incorporated on March 26 in 1972 by combining two abandoned Pakistani banks Commerce Bank and Habib Bank.
The Government of Bangladesh is the owner of this bank. The bank is fully governed by a board of directors consisting of 12 members headed by a Chairman.
The bank has a vast network of 11 Circle offices, 37 Divisions in head office, 53 zonal offices around the country for the secure banking services rendered towards the people of the nation.
The bank has formed a network of 958 branches, including 34 corporate, 42 AD branches, and 5 subsidiary companies in the different parts of the country.
Agrani Bank Limited (ABL) is the first state-owned Commercial Bank in Bangladesh that has introduced Agent Banking. Besides, the bank has 5 subsidiary companies.
At present, the bank has 250 agent booths who are operating
Agent Banking activities around the rural areas of Bangladesh to make its services reach the rural people.
The bank introduced ‘Islamic Banking Unit’ under that Islamic banking is operated since February 28, 2010, through 15 Islamic Banking Windows. The authorized capital of the Bank was Tk 8 billion.
The bank has launched a Debit card under the Q-cash brand shared ATM network system, which is being maintained by Information Technology Consultants Limited (ITCL).
Besides, about 26 banks are the members of this Q-Cash branded shared Network, and over 1200 ATMs are operating in the Network.
General banking, Agri banking, Green Banking, Rural Banking, Agent banking, NRB banking, Merchant banking are the prime services and products of the business.
Over 14,000 employees are working for the company to make the wheels of the bank movable to the full speed.
