AB Bank, formerly known as Arab Bangladesh Bank, was incorporated on December 31, 1981, but started its first active banking career on April 12, 1982. For the first time, the country had experienced a joint venture partnership in the banking sector brought by the authority of A.B. bank Limited.
However, Bangladesh bank approved the decision of changing the name from the Arab Bangladesh Bank to A.B. Bank. Since then, we have known it as A.B. Bank.
In 2014 A.B. bank had the ownership of Cashlink Bangladesh Limited and since then, it has been a subsidiary of A.B. Bank Limited.
The bank is famous for consumer and corporate banking, and it renders its helping hands with the investment to the different sectors of the economy here in Bangladesh. Some other common products from this Bank are SME banking, Retail banking, Islami banking, eBiz, etc.
The bank started its banking operation from its very first branch at Karwan Bazar on April 12, 1982. At the period of 38 years of its journey, it has formed 105 branches with one overseas branch in Mumbai, India.
Moreover, this bank can boast of its 270 plus ATMs that spread across the country. It has affiliated with 5 subsidiary companies, including one Offshore Banking Unit and Custodial services, with its fundamental banking activities.
Besides, this bank founded its representative office at Yangon, Myanmar, intending to expand its foreign operations.
